On the 21st of April, Tess Christine took to her official YouTube channel to share the news of her breast cancer diagnosis with her 2.32 million subscribers.
The influencer explained the reason why she abruptly left social media. She said, “I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of March very very suddenly and what felt like out of nowhere.”
She continued to mention that while she might have continued to keep her followers in the dark she thinks that her story may raise awareness.
The YouTuber has a massive female following on most of her social media accounts. She felt the responsibility to share her story in the hopes of spreading awareness about it.
Consequently, Christine’s encounter with cancer raised substantial concern among her female followers as she is only 30 years old.

In her latest video, Tess Christine shares that she felt a lump in her left breast after her return from a family holiday to Minnesota earlier this year in January.
Initially, the social media personality brushed it off thinking it was a clogged milk duct. She also thought it might be a side effect of weaning her ten-month-old son, Theo off of breastfeeding.
The lump however remained. During her next menstrual cycle, Christine woke up to a “throbbing pain” in her left breast.
She went through a check-up with her primary care doctor who told her that the lump was just a cyst.
Regardless, Christine was still feeling uneasy.
The content creator further mentioned in the clip that her gut feeling was saying something else. She later came to the worst conclusion that she might have cancer after thinking about her infant who still needed her.
The beauty and fashion guru however was firm and requested further examination. It consisted of mammograms, a sonogram, as well as a biopsy which was suggested by her radiologist.
The test results revealed a malignant tumor. Following that Christine began her diagnosis with invasive ductal carcinoma (the medical term for breast cancer).
Luckily, further examinations found that her cancer had not spread to either her lymph nodes or her right breast. She has undergone a double-mastectomy with partial reconstruction.
In the YouTube video, we can witness Christine urging her subscribers and followers, especially her female audience, to take care of their health. She further suggested they always be proactive in screening if they notice any anomalies or abnormalities in their body.
