In a recent interview, Eric Braeden criticized Eva Longoria for criticizing soap actors. During an episode of CNN and HBO Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, Eva Longoria recalled her early days on The Young and the Restless. In response, the actress’s former co-star, Eric Braeden, has hit back at her for making comments about soap operas that he deemed ‘derogatory’. In his tweet, Braeden said, EVA LONGORIA, you just made a derogatory reference to daytime actors! There was no way you could handle the pressure of this medium! The ‘housewife’ show was a great opportunity for you!

Other people felt that Braeden overreacted and misinterpreted Longoria’s remarks in his response to Braeden, who has played Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless since the 1980s. During the original interview, Wallace mentioned Longoria worked at a headhunting firm before joining The Young and the Restless.

In a new interview on CNN and HBO Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, Eva Longoria reflected on her early role in the major soap opera The Young and the Restless? She is now being attacked by her former co-star, Eric Braeden, for what he viewed as ‘derogatory’ comments about soap operas. According to Longoria, being an actor does not pay enough to support a family. I continued being a headhunter while working on Young and the Restless, and I would tell clients I was on Young and the Restless so they wouldn’t get a dumb actress managing their accounts. Afterwards, she told Wallace how one of her clients recognized her from the soap opera, and she denied it, telling him, ‘Don’t tell anyone I’m on that show! Due to the fact that I was still making more money at my day job. A user replied, Is that all she said? I think he’s overreacting. It’s not uncommon for struggling actors (whatever genre they are in) to not brag about their other job that they are struggling actors. It wasn’t an insult to daytime soaps. A commenter originally said, Exactly. There was no insult intended. Having experienced it herself, she just pointed out that there exists a bias against actors. This is a fact. I’m sorry EB but get over it. Braeden’s statements have not been responded to by Eva Longoria.
