Yolanda Hadid is back on Instagram
Yolanda Hadid took to Instagram to break the news of her return to the social media platform.
On Sunday, Hadid shared a post with her fans announcing the end of her social media ‘detox’.
The television personality shared an image of herself smiling while sitting on cushions with water glistening behind her.
She explained her reasons for why she temporarily left Instagram which centered around her mental and physical health.
The mother of three mentioned that the hiatus came after her mother’s death which was followed by her battle with Lyme disease and depression.
Hadid began, ‘Coming back from a 9-month social media hiatus, a time to reevaluate my life. After the loss of my mother I really struggled with depression followed by a Lyme relapse….the emotional stress and grief strongly affected my immune system.’
If you didn’t know, Hadid lost her mother, Ans van den Herik, to cancer in August 2019. She was 78 years old.
Furthermore, she continued, ‘My phone addiction didn’t help either, it started to take so much time away from being present in my life.’
The 58-year-old ex-model noted, ‘I realized that we are slowly starting to lose the art of communication and it’s creating a deep loneliness within us.’
Additionally, she pointed out, ‘This has been a wonderful reset, time to break the habit of picking up my phone 50 times a day.’
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared, ‘Learning to focus on me, my health journey and being present in this moment of my life.’
She further ended her lengthy post by typing, ‘I am excited to be back and see what you’ve all been up to.’
Yolanda Hadid’s battle with Lyme disease

Yolanda Hadid was diagnosed with severe, chronic neurological Lyme disease after she visited a doctor in Belgium back in 2012.
Meanwhile, she underwent a TVAM treatment i.e. Transvascular Autonomic Modulation in 2016. This procedure attempts to reduce the symptoms of Lyme disease such as fatigue and brain fog.
Moreover, Hadid wrote in her memoir, ‘I’m such a fighter, but I had to surrender. God please just take me away in a wave. I can’t live like this one more day. Please carry my body away. I just want to disappear.’
