This Tuesday, Rae Sremmurd member Slim Jxmmi, Aaquil Brown, was arrested in Miami on charges of battery.
Law enforcement sources claim Slim Jxmmi, 31, yanked his girlfriend’s hair extension. He threw her phone from a balcony after chasing her. He has a child with his girlfriend, who says she does not believe Brown hit her and says, “Dade County, you are wrong for this.”
Slim Jxmmi was booked at 11:27 am Tuesday into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to online records cited by Pitchfork.
NBC 6 South Florida reports citing the arrest report that Slim Jxmmi and his girlfriend had gotten into a verbal dispute during the night over a Twitter user he followed.
The music producer of Slim Jxmmi’s song was apparently with him when he entered the residence, and the two then left together after saying they were going to the gym.
After Brown and his producer left the apartment, his girlfriend’s friend allegedly saw them drinking together in a bar.
Arrest Report Mentions That Her Chest Was Scratched
The arrest report claims that Brown returned home smelling of alcohol while still with his music producer, and that sparked the altercation.
During the incident, Jxmmi’s girlfriend allegedly tried to put their baby to bed, who had already fallen asleep. But Jxmmi is accused of ripping out her extension.
After his girlfriend attempted to film him on her phone, Jxmmi pursued her through their home, according to the arrest report.
Jxmmi was allegedly attempting to pull the phone out of her bra, from which she stuffed the phone. Her chest was scratched, according to the arrest report.
He Feared The Footage His Girlfriend Recorded Will “Damage His Celebrity Status”
Apparently, at one point, Jxmmi kicked in the door when she tried to close herself in the bedroom.
The police told that they found the phone still in working condition on the street. He allegedly caught it and tossed it off the balcony.
According to Slim Jxmmi’s arrest report, if the video of his girlfriend was made public, his celebrity status would be destroyed.
Slim Jxmmi was arrested that morning around 5 am. But after his arrest, his girlfriend released a statement that dramatically contradicted the arrest report.
The rapper is known for being one-third of the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd along with his brother Shaman Brown. He goes by the name Swae Lee.
