Steve Zissou, the attorney for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, is taking over social media amid Brittney Griner’s release and a prisoner swap.

Steve Zissou is representing convict Viktor Bout amid a prisoner swap between Bout from Russia and Brittney Griner from the USA.
If you didn’t know, Griner was taken into custody earlier this year for having less than a gram of hash oil in her luggage. Moreover, Russia considers the possession of a cannabis product illegal
Bout on the other hand continued to deny the charges against him. In addition, Russia also urged the release of Bout from the USA and claimed the verdict as ‘baseless and biased’ in 2012.
Meanwhile, after months of negotiations, both Griner and Bout returned to their respective countries earlier this week.
Besides that, in August, Zissou told the press that he was ‘confident’ that the proposed prisoner swap will be conducted successfully between the USA and Russia.
He said, ‘I do have some information about the progress of how things are going… But that information comes from the Russian side as opposed to the American side. I’m confident this is going to get done.’
Who is Steve Zissou?
Steve Zissou is a lawyer and a trained criminal defense lawyer based in Queens.
As per his LinkedIn profile, Zissou specializes in federal and state criminal law, appeals, and cannabis legalization.
Additionally, he completed his law studies at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. He worked as the Assistant District Attorney in Queens. But is presently a lawyer working in his company Steve Zissou & Associates.

Moreover, they were astonished to learn that the lawyer shares the same name as Bill Murray’s character in the 2004 film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
