In collaboration with Alesso, Katy Perry finally released her new music video for When I’m gone.

During halftime of the National College Football Championship between Alabama and Georgia on Monday, Jan. 10, Katy Perry’s epic song video was first released.

During its live television broadcast, ESPN broadcast a music video from the global stage for the first time.

Who is Alessio?

If you’re unfamiliar with Alesso, he is a well-known Swedish DJ born in Stockholm of Swedish and Italian descent. His full name is Alessandro Renato Rodolfo Lindblad. Taking piano lessons at the age of 7 provided the star with the opportunity to hone her skills early on. Alesso’s interest in electronic dance music was discovered at the age of 16 however.

In addition to Hailee Steinfeld, Calvin Harris, Anitta, Usher, David Guetta, Liam Payne, and many others, the 30-year-old musician has won multiple awards.

Alesso has also performed at a variety of top-tier music festivals, including Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland, and numerous others.

Def Jam Records signed Alesso to its roster in July 2014, making him the second artist from the EDM genre to sign with it after Afrojack.

Katie collaborated with the DJ for several weeks. The video was released Monday, January 10. Katy can be seen performing some wacky yet spectacular moves in the video while dressed in a sexy avatar.

The DJ occasionally makes an appearance in the clip, although he doesn’t break a leg as Katy does. The duo can also be seen together in the video.

She said in a statement that while making music videos, she likes to push boundaries and send herself further, as well as giving her fans a chance to see things that they’ve never seen before.

The pair were the first artists to integrate a global music video within a live event on ESPN, so partnering with Alesso was a natural choice. She said ESPN and College GameDay hold a special place in her heart, so they made a perfect, natural alliance.
