After an incident took place with a security guard in Florida Hotel. Almost, two years later, the pair was entered guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges of simple battery.
Why was Rod Stewart Son Arrested?
The singer, “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” was arrested for punching a security guard in the ribs. It happened after Stewart’s entourage tried to crash a private kiss party at Palm Beach Resort.
The security guard Jessie Dixon told officers, he put the back of his right hand on the chest of younger Stewart. Dixon asked him to back up.
The security video showed Sean Stewart shoving Dixon did also Rod Stewart, who is 76, punching him in the ribs with the closed fist.
The dispute took place because of Dixon’s disapproval to allow them to enter into the private New Year’s Eve party at the hotel.
Rod Stewart is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is a native of London. The singer’s greatest hits include “Maggie May”, “Tonight’s the night” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?”. In 2016, Queen Elizabeth II knighted him.
Charges Explained
In a statement, his attorney Guy Fronstin said, “No one was injured in the incident and a jury did not find Sir Rod Stewart guilty of the accusation”.
Further, he added, “Instead, Sir Rod Stewart decided to enter a plea to avoid the inconvenience and unnecessary burden on the court and the public that a high profile proceeding would cause.”
According to the court records released on Friday, the pair have pleaded to simple battery, a misdemeanor.
The deal will help in saving Stewart and his son. The son who is 41-year-old by a former wife, Alana Stewart from has an order to appear in court.
Fronstin told AP that neither man is going to face fines, probation, and jail time.
The plea agreement has been dated and signed on Monday. It means that Stewart and his son don’t have to appear in court. Also, the formal adjudication was withheld of the charge. No trial would be held.
Attorney Dave Aronberg, a spokesperson, whose office prosecuted the case said in an email. He said that Dixon has agreed with the case outcomes.
