‘ASTRO WORLD FESTIVAL’ Is an annual festival run by world sensation Travis Scott, held in Houston, Texas at NRG Park, on the former site of six flags Astroworld on 5th November of 2021. The tragedy that took place at the event left people baffled and different theories are circulated on the Internet. Recently Tick Tok user named Remi Rich was seen attacked by netizens after his new Tik Tok video narrating about the situation at the event blaming the crowd for what happened.
The event tragedy took eight lives and a quite number of people injured, many fans are even asking for a refund after the show got canceled.
Who is Remi Rich?
Remi Rich has about 47,000 followers on Tik Tok with username as @remi.rich, earlier he used to make reaction videos about various topics, he also made videos for medical emergencies
As he is professionally an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), after the tragedy of crowd surge at Astroworld Fest he revealed that he worked as a Medic at the event through his Tick Tok.
His experience during the event
The Tik Toker shared three videos related to the event in the first two he discussed the cases he dealt with as a medic and on the third, he shared how the situation could have gone worsened.
Further, he explained how he noticed 3 people on the floor within 10 minutes, he also said several professionals were working on different concertgoers
He stated that the crowd was ‘irresponsible’ and they were trying to move towards the stage as soon as Travis started to perform which led to a rush and panic situation at the event he also stated that the crowd did not follow any basic ‘etiquette’ and the EMT’s tried their best to save lives. there was around 150 medic for 50000 irresponsible ill-mannered crowds.
What happened during the crowd surge
He narrated the story stating how he was called to find a girl his fellow told about, she was unconscious for the past 10 minutes and was on the floor in between the crowd without receiving any first aid.
She almost didn’t have a pulse and was breathless when he found her which meant she has no oxygen supply to her brain, he further added how no one did anything and let her be in that condition, he said he left his fellow men to perform CPR as he rushed for a crash bag, for several minutes he told he Performed CPR on several people in the crowd, he also explained how quite a few numbers of people also got milder injuries as compared to others such as broken ankle and dislocated shoulder bone.
He said we went up to speak because rumors got circulated that the medical staffs were less equipped to deal with the situation
He further said there were 50,000 people there must be more people injured, he further added it was very difficult to call for backup since the music was too loud at the event
TikToker Remi Rich criticized for blaming the crowd
Users did not like the fact that Rem blamed the crowd only for the happening at the event, but there were several factors responsible for the happening and should be taken as a note.
Users pointed other issues such as the organizer’s and management’s fault, and not only the crowd, and said you shouldn’t blame the victims they were just trying to enjoy the event. Some people also blamed Travis for this as the crowd surge started at 9:38 pm, but the festival ended at 10:15 pm until Travis concluded his performance, and he ignored the happenings
To this Rem even corrected himself saying I should have considered other factors instead of blaming the crowd completely.
