First Time, Hanteo Global along with Gen Z popular app Whosfan has launched the 2021 Hanteo Music Awards. Hanteo Global informed about this newly launched platform and has fans going crazy and competitive over their artists to support those for their win.
K-pop fans will now have to battle with each other for another year-end award for their favorite idols as well as a fandom themselves. This time the award show will air in a virtual form. Whosfan is the official platform for the Hanteo Music Award show as well as the award categories.
Hanteo Music Award Criteria
Hanteo Global has announced the 2021 Hanteo Music Awards (HMA) and revealed five categories of awards, calculated unique to the Hanteo chart.
“The main character of k-pop in 2021” Hanteo chart, the standard for global k-pop, closes 2021 with Whosfan!!
The 2021 Hanteo Music Awards entry criteria are “k-pop artist and global fandom who released and worked on albums (physical and digital) from January 1, 2021, to December 7, 2021.”
Among the qualified candidates, HMA has selected candidates who influenced the k-pop industry based on a comprehensive score that indexed data such as albums, sound records, social media portals, fandom, and more.
Hanteo Music Award List and Guide!
- 2021 Hanteo music awards super-record award
This award will be given to artists who made it to the top 10 list in ultra-long album sales during 2021 as super-sales signify the firepower of global fandom.
Criteria: 100% of super album sales

- 2021 Hanteo Music Awards Artist Award
This award will be given to artists who have had a significant impact on the industry throughout 2021, scoring on metrics like albums, sound recordings, global presence and fandom index, etc.
The total score composition comprises 65% of the overall score on various metrics plus 35% global fan vote.
Voting period – 2021. 12. 20. 12 p.m. ~ 2021. 12. 26. 11:59 a.m. (KST)

- 2021 Hanteo Music Awards Who’s Fandom Award
This award will be given to global fandom and artists, recognized as “who’s fandom award”. The criteria for the same is 100% global fan votes in a tournament format. Winners with 100% global fan votes mean the best Fandom of the Year. A list of 40 fandoms is released under this award category including BTS-Army, Blackpink- Blinks, TWICE-ONCE, etc.

2021 Hanteo Music Awards Special Awards
This award will be given to artists who have achievements in the special field of k-pop. The winner of this award is the artists who have displayed a wide number of aspects in special fields, including albums, sound recording, social and media.
The total score comprises of 100% overall score * overall score in respective fields.
