Hynde might carry talent however, as the character mentions in the series, the artist struggled with ‘big steaming piles of sexism’ to be where she is today.

As shown in the Pistol, Hynde was indeed real friends with members of the “Sex Pistols”. She almost got close to tying the knot with one of them. But what happened to Chrissie Hynde after?

The musician attempted to create bands in both the United Kingdom as well as France but to no avail. Regardless she performed beside numerous outfits such as The Damned.

Back in 1978, Hynde created a group with Pete Farndon, James Honeyman-Scott, and Martin Chambers. It was called The Pretenders. Nevertheless, because of this group, Hynde was able to witness some success.

As of now, The Pretenders have dropped 11 albums together as a group. Most recently they released a record titled Hate for Sale in July 2020.

In 2005 Hynde was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the English–American rock band.

Chrissie Hynde’s brief romance with Steve Jones

The miniseries Pistol shows Chrissie Hynde and “Sex Pistols” guitarist Steve Jones getting involved in a romantic relationship with each other.

The romance was brief, however. Regardless, both artists have remained to be good friends ever since.

Hynde also teamed up with Pistol’s creative team. She also helped Sydney Chandler, who plays Hynde’s character on screen, to adapt to her younger version.

During her interview with Newsweek, Chandler talked about the experience she had when she met the artist she was set to act on screen. She said, ‘I read her book first, and the first meeting I didn’t have any plans as far as questions, I just wanted to kind of take her in.’
