When Dow’s wife believed her husband Tony Dow had passed away, she told his manager, who then wrote a statement on the celebrity’s official Facebook page. Tony Dow, a star of “Leave it to Beaver,” is currently receiving medical attention three months after receiving a cancer diagnosis. On Tuesday, July 26, word of Dow’s passing quickly spread online. It was later made clear, though, that the 77-year-old actor was well.

What happened to Tony Dow?

The actor was diagnosed with cancer in May, and he and his wife Lauren Shulkind announced the “extremely terrible news” in a joint statement. No specifics were provided. “Dear Tony Dow Friends & Supporters, I must break some really awful news to you. Sadly, Tony has been given a new cancer diagnosis. The statement continued, “He is embracing this truth with such bravery, but it is very heartbreaking. According to TMZ, Dow’s wife alerted his management that she believed her husband was dead, which led to a statement being uploaded on the celebrity’s official Facebook page.

Soon, a revised announcement was published. “Tony’s wife Lauren, who was visibly heartbroken, informed us of his passing this morning and begged that we inform all of his followers. This has been a very challenging moment for her, as we are sure you can appreciate,” the revised statement stated. Since then, Tony’s daughter-in-law has called to let us know that although he is not doing well, he is still alive. We will keep you updated on any new developments. Tony’s son Christopher and daughter-in-law Melissa have also been by his side comforting him. Later, the post was taken down.

According to Dow’s son Christopher, his father might be nearing the end of his life. “This is a challenging time. He is still alive, but he is nearing the end. Hospice care entails “said he. Dow has directed episodes of well-known series like “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Coach,” and “Harry and the Hendersons” in addition to his role as Beaver in “Leave It to Beaver.”
