Frank Fritz suffers stroke
Frank Fritz’s former co-star, Mike Wolfe, broke the devastating news on Instagram last week.
Wolfe further shared a heartfelt message while posting a smiling picture of Fritz.
He started with, ‘I have been very private in the past year in regards to Frank’s life and the journey he’s been on. There have been lots of opinions in regards to mine and Frank’s friendship and the show but now is not the time to set the record straight. Now is the time to pray for my friend.’
Wolfe then added, ‘Frank has suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts.’
He concluded the sentimental caption by saying, ‘Frank I pray more than anything that you make it through this okay. I love you, buddy.’
Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe’s relationship
Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe shared the television screen on History Channel’s reality series American Pickers, which debuted in 2010.
The show followed the duo as they traveled across the country and ‘earn a living by restoring forgotten relics to their former glory, transforming one person’s trash into another’s a treasure.’
However, fans were shocked when Fritz announced his departure from the popular series last July. It was later reported that he was fired in the wake of his several health issues including back surgery.
Both Fritz and Wolfe have been candid about the ups and downs of their friendship.
Fritz mentioned in an interview, ‘I haven’t talked to Mike in two years. He knew my back was messed up, but he didn’t call me up and ask how I was doing. That’s just how it is.’
Wolfe on the other claimed that he will miss Fritz while talking with People magazine.
He said, ‘I have known Frank for as long as I can remember, he’s been like a brother to me.’
The 58-year-old actor continued, ‘I will miss Frank, just like all of you, and I pray for the very best and all good things for him on the next part of his journey.’
Regardless, Fritz contradicted his message by saying, ‘Mike’s statement was bullshit, somebody wrote it out for him. We never were friends in grade school. I don’t believe in ten years he’s said five nice things to me, you know?’
