On Wednesday Jacqueline Avant died, she was shot in her Beverly Hills home. She lived with her husband, Clarence Avant. Avant who was 81 was taken to a local hospital. Unfortunately, she did not survive.
The entire family stated in CBS news that they were thankful for everyone for showing their love, support, and consoling them. They also added by saying that Jacqueline Avant was an amazing woman, wife, mother, and a philanthropist. She made a huge impact on the arts community as well. Her family said that she would be missed a lot by them and all the people she has helped throughout her life.
The authorities claim that they had gotten a call around 2:30 a.m. regarding a shooting in the 1100 block of Maytor Place. The police had found a woman shot, who was found to be Avant. There were no suspects on the scene and so no one has been arrested till now.
Who was Jacqueline Avantt?
Jacqueline Avant was a philanthropist. She helped poor-income neighborhoods in Los Angles. She was also on the board of directors of the International Student Center at the University of California.
Jacqueline Avant has a daughter, Nicole Avant, and a son named Alexander Du Bois Avant. Nicole works as a film producer and was the U.S ambassador to the Bahamas. Nicole Avant is married to Netflix co-CEO and COO Ted Sarandos.
Clarence was known as the “Godfather of Black Music”.She recently was also introduced in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She was also a Grammy winner. She was a concert promoter and manager who also helped the careers of many artists. Some of these artists include Bill Withers, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, L. A Reid and many more.

Security Guard Was Present At The Time Of The Shooting
The police of Beverly Hills Cheif first said that it was a difficult day for the whole city and that they would like to extend their condolences to the victim’s family on behalf of the whole department.
There was no motive announced on the briefing on Wednesday. Though the chief said that he believes that the shooting was not random. The incident is still under strict investigation.
He also said that he wanted to assure the Beverly Hills community that the city still is one of the safest nations. He added that any type of crime would be tolerated and that they would do their best to bring the case to justice.
