Chris Kattan is presently hospitalized following a health scare that is forcing him to undergo emergency surgery for treating pneumonia. Hence, he will miss some of his upcoming shows in his ongoing comedy tour.

Chris Kattan is to undergo emergency surgery for pneumonia

Sources close to Chris Kattan have revealed that the 52-year-old comedian fell victim to a severe case of Streptococcus Pneumonia.

For the unversed, it is an extreme case of pneumonia. Meanwhile, Kattan was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. 

However, after his arrival, it was revealed that he needed to undergo emergency surgery. Fortunately, the operation was a success.

Meanwhile, the insiders’ have said that if things go well, then Kattan is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Friday. Besides that, he might hopefully return to work sometime in the near future.

Moreover, Kattan was scheduled to perform in Valparaiso, Indiana this Friday. But reportedly his show in the city has been rescheduled along with a couple of other upcoming dates in his comedy tour.

In addition, Kattan has stayed out of the limelight for quite a while. However, he is back to doing standup comedy. 

He also has an 8-year run on Saturday Night Live. Additionally, Kattan was featured in multiple episodes of the sketch comedy playing the iconic roles of characters such as Mango. He was also seen bopping his head with Will Ferrell during A Night at the Roxbury.

Chris Kattan reveals why he left Celebrity Big Brother

Earlier this year, Chris Kattan decided to exit from the Celebrity Big Brother house voluntarily following his brief stint on the long-running CBS series.

He said, ‘It was a lot of fun, but it was hard.’

Furthermore, he explains, ‘At some point, it just became hard not to talk to family. And for me, it became hard to be disconnected from the outside world.’

Kattan shared, ‘I don’t think I was so ready [or] realized what that felt like when you have cameras on you 24/7, except for when you’re going to use the bidet. That’s really it. I didn’t realize how much I missed my family and friends and my loved ones and girlfriend.’

Meanwhile, the Californian native’s notable roles include Doug Butabi in A Night at the Roxbury, Bob in The Middle, and Bunnicula in Bunnicula.

Also, he was previously married to model Sunshine Deia Tutt. They tied the knot in June 2008 but decided to part ways later that year with their divorce being finalized in February 2009.
