On June 25, an unnamed person claimed that Ocean’s 8 actresses Anne Hathaway had allegedly engaged in cannibalism in a previous incident. The tweet (which has since been deleted) gained a lot of traction on the site, receiving over 20,000 retweets in just two days.

The tweet first appeared when a user shared the actress’ appearance on the June 2022 cover of Elle France. A contentious tweet claimed that human remains were discovered at the actress’ home in 2013 among a wealth of supportive tweets in the post’s reply area.

It should be emphasized that Hathway had never been accused of cannibalism before this contentious tweet made its disputed accusation. Furthermore, there have never been any allegations linking her to the purported discovery of human remains within her home. It follows that the assertion stated in the arbitrary tweet was categorically false.

What was claimed in the tweet regarding Anne Hathaway’s suspected involvement with cannibalism?

Girl with no worries (@hotpriestt), a Twitter user who goes by the handle, said the following in response to the tweet of a picture of Hathaway’s appearance on the June 2022 cover of Elle France:

“Every tweet about Anne Hathaway going popular is like the cops didn’t find cannibalism proof and human remains in her 2013-sold home in Los Angeles.”

Many online commenters pressed the user for evidence, but Girl with no troubles (@hotpriestt) responded by posting a photograph of Anne Hathaway’s house with a cutout of the actress in it. After reviewing the assertion in greater detail, the user replied: “Believe women.

It should be emphasized that Harvard University has provided no information regarding this purported study or any indication that Anne Hathaway has any connection to cannibalism. Surprisingly, the user who posted the tweet that went viral over the weekend and disseminated the self-described false information canceled their account.

Furthermore, it seems unlikely that Harvard University would carry out a study concerning purposefully disseminating false material about a celebrity that might be construed as defamatory. It also raises questions regarding legality since, if Harvard did actually conduct such research on a celebrity, there may be a potential that the well-known individual will file a lawsuit against the university.

In addition, Anne Hathaway’s Los Angeles home was covered in an Architectural Digest article from 2019. This further demonstrates the falsity of the claim that Hathaway’s home was sold in 2013.

Internet users respond to allegations that Anne Hathaway is connected to cannibalism

Many followers made fun of the user’s attempt to disseminate such ridiculous misinformation about the actress after the now-deleted tweet went viral. Many users supported the actress and disputed the accusations made against the 39-year-old Brooklyn native.
