A recent video captured in Rio de Janeiro seems to show a white couple causing a ruckus at a Hilton hotel. An employee of Hilton Hotel helped a Black man before they physically attacked him.

The video begins with a stressful situation in which the couple is arguing with hotel workers as the Black man who was treated first because he is a Diamond Member of the hotel waits at the counter

The couple argues with staff positioned between them and the Black man while a narrator explains what’s going on.
The person filming can be heard saying:

Y’all have not de-escalated the situation because she is still right there, still talking.”

A white woman slaps her hands around the neck of a Black man in seconds, pushing her way through staff and security. After having heard the white man’s taunting, the Black man reacts by going after him, punching him. While the white woman continues grabbing at him.

Twitter reacted to the incident

@monty_sexton aka ‘King’ shared the video on Twitter.

The posted video does not show any compelling evidence of racial discrimination, despite King being accused of it.
The woman continues to yell after causing the physical disturbance. She once again breaks through staff members to get to the Black man.

Witnesses keep asking staff why they have done nothing to de-escalate the situation and let the two parties remain close to each other at the scene. Before the woman was finally escorted away, the staff member escorted the Black man from the scene.

Twitter user @slyfoxnyc aka ‘HL’, who claimed to be the man attacked at the hotel, has written a response to the film. King was asked to forward the video of the attack to the hotel so he could send it to them.

“The couple waited outside for hours looking for me,” said @slyfoxnyc. He was unable to stay at the hotel that night because they falsely accused him of assaulting them.

As of yet, Hilton has not commented about the viral video or how this might play out in court.
