The footage of Cecilia Morales springing into action to save a child was released on Thursday. Morales saw a mother picking her baby boy from a car carrier. The security officer noticed that he wasn’t breathing.

According to the TSA officials, Cecilia Morales was a veteran EMT from Newark. She shouted the instructions to the mother. She know she had to act quickly as the baby’s mother was nervous during the frightening ordeal.

How Did The TSA Officer Saved A Baby

Cecilia Morales, a two-month TSA Officer, who has been EMT told the agency about the scenario. Morales told the agency that she performed the infant version of the Heimlich maneuver. The security officer placed the face of the baby down on her arm. Then she patted him on his back so that he can breathe again.

The TSA Officer told that she performed the technique for the first time on an infant.

Later after a short time, a pediatric EMT arrived to give oxygen to the baby. A TSA spokesperson said that the agency didn’t know the cause of the problem in the breathing of a child.

Cecilia Morales even said, “I saw the video afterwards,” Further she added, “It was the first time I’ve ever seen myself in action, saving a life. It was mind-blowing to watch. I felt that my training and experience just took over.”

The TSA’s Federal Security Director for New Jersey named Thomas Carter said, “Two months on the job and she’s a life-saver.” He further added in his statement about Officer Morales’s quick reaction. Her actions helped ensure that this family will have a happy holiday season. Her actions were inspiring.”
