Recently, American entrepreneur and social media personality Dave Portnoy strongly criticized Kim Kardashian in response to Taylor Swift’s impactful interview with Time magazine on December 6, 2023. Just a day after the interview, the Barstool Sports owner shared a TikTok video where he criticized Kardashian by compiling various old recordings. Fans of Taylor Swift, known as Swifties, started trending the interview, which delved into Swift’s conflicts with Kardashian and her former husband Kanye West, also known as Ye. In 2016, Ye released his song “Famous,” which contained explicit lyrics about the pop star.

Swift had given authorization to the music and uploaded “an illegally recorded video,” according to Kim, which was later discredited. Dave Portnoy is the creator and owner of Barstool Sports, a sports and pop culture enterprise. He has an estimated net worth of $100 million, with revenue streams including podcast, video, plus display advertising, betting, subscriptions, pay-per-view events, & e-commerce. Following the publication of Taylor Swift’s Time Magazine interview for 2023 Person of the Year on Wednesday, fans have pointed out that Kim Kardashian has yet to apologise to the pop icon for the phone call that supposedly nearly ruined her career, according to People.

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports and a well-known Swiftie, launched a strong verbal attack against Kim Kardashian after Taylor Swift revisited their past conflict in a recent cover interview with TIME, where she was named the 2023 Person of the Year. Following the release of Taylor Swift’s Time Magazine interview on Wednesday, fans observed that Kim Kardashian has not issued an apology to the pop icon for the contentious phone call that reportedly had a detrimental impact on Swift’s career, according to People magazine.

In her interview with Time, Taylor Swift addressed the Kanye and Kim incident, stating, “You have a fully fabricated frame job,” and referencing an illegally recorded phone call that Kim Kardashian manipulated and released to discredit her. This incident, Swift explained, led her to a psychological low point she had never experienced before. While Dave Portnoy has always harbored animosity toward Kim, he has not explicitly disclosed the origin of his one-sided dislike. Being a longstanding fan of Taylor Swift, Portnoy shared his perspective on the situation by retweeting a quote and expressing, “THIS. And Kim Kardashian acts as if nothing ever happened. She incorporates music into her stories. There is no need to apologize. Kim Kardashian is a scumbag,” as reported by Hot New Hip Hop.

In an extensive edited video posted on his TikTok account, Dave Portnoy urged the SKIMS model to either “shut up or admit to it.” He also provided commentary on Kim’s Instagram post, where she shared a birthday message featuring Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Expressing his opinion, Dave Portnoy remarked, “I’ve never seen anyone grovel like she does to Taylor Swift. You’ve lost all credibility in our eyes. Cease the games, stop playing her music, refrain from allowing your kids to listen to it, and don’t share it on your Story if you don’t want them to hear it. We all remember what you did with Kanye when you manipulated the footage to portray Taylor as a deceitful liar.”

According to The New York Post, Dave Portnoy and Taylor Swift were referencing the notorious 2016 phone call in which Kanye West discussed his song “Famous” with Swift. Kim Kardashian had shared a video of the call on social media, creating the impression that Swift had approved of the lyrics: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? ‘Cause I made that btch famous.” However, as per Billboard, the complete recording of the phone call, which surfaced in 2020, contradicted Kim’s version, as it revealed Kanye omitting the term “btch” in the lyrics and Taylor asserting she was never sent the entire song.
