A recent viral footage of Jackie Chan was released online, in which the actor is seen crying beside his daughter while watching sequences from his earlier films, and while the clip is rather beautiful, the description isn’t entirely accurate. The clip in question is from the movie Ride On, and the woman beside him is not his daughter, but rather actress Liu Haocun, who portrays his daughter in the film. In the movie Ride On, Jackie Chan plays Lao Luo, an “old-school stunt performer” with a stunt horse named Red Hare.

In the movie, he is also joined by actress Liu Haocun as Xia Bao, who plays his daughter, and the moment in question shows him reminiscing about his days as a stunt actor while also becoming emotional. So, in essence, that’s not his real daughter in the scene. Jackie Chan is one of the most popular and talked-about actors on the internet. He is arguably one of the most recognisable action-comedy entertainers, with a career full of classics. So it’s reasonable that the internet can get his facts jumbled up, but Chan’s real-life situation with his daughter is even more painful than this clip would have you believe.

Is Jackie Chan Crying While Watching His Old movies With His Real Daughter? Scene From Movie ‘Ride On’ Goes Viral

A touching scene from Jackie Chan’s latest film, “Ride On,” has gone viral, depicting the iconic actor in a tender moment with his on-screen daughter, Liu Haocun. The poignant moment depicts Jackie as Luo Zhilong, a stuntman, and Liu as Luo Xiaobao bonding over classic stunt scenes from Jackie’s real-life career. Some admirers mistook Liu for Jackie’s real-life daughter, prompting a correction in a Hollywoodlife.com post. While Liu plays Jackie’s daughter in the film, it is vital to highlight that Jackie’s real daughter is Etta Ng, not Liu. In 1999, Jackie and Elaine Ng gave birth to Etta Ng, who became known as “Xiao Long Nu” (Little Dragon Girl). During the 1990s, when Jackie was still married to his wife, Joan Lin, Etta Ng was born as a result of an affair between Jackie and Elaine, a beauty pageant queen. Jackie and Joan have stated that they do not speak or communicate as a couple despite their long-standing marriage since 1982.

Etta expressed her feelings about her biological father in 2015, saying, “He is my biological father, but he is not in my life.” He didn’t exist in my life. He will never be considered my father. She emphasised, “I don’t need my father as long as I’ve got my mother.” Etta and her mother both live discreet lives in Hong Kong. Etta expressed her gratitude for the immense support and love she has gotten in a now-deleted post, thanking the global positivity from her and her partner, Andi Autumn, fans. Growing raised in a negative and closed-minded society, Etta realised she could utilise her experiences to communicate her realities and aid others in similar circumstances. She closed her statement by saying, “Thank you for the tremendous outpouring of love and acceptance.” Etta and Andi married in November 2018, emphasising the value of love, perseverance, and creating the family they had always desired.
