Viral Audio Hoaxes: Fake ‘Titan Implosion’ and ‘Screams’ Circulate on Social Media, Stirring Emotions of Tragic Accident

The audio clips of the Titan implosion and the screams of the passengers onboard are going viral making everyone get scared. Recently, one of the most heartbreaking incidents was witnessed when OceanGate’s Titan submersible imploded on its trip in the North Atlantic Ocean on a voyage to the Titanic Wreck site. While now some horrifying sounds claimed to be of sub and passengers have been going viral too.

Ill-fated incident of OceanGate’s Titan submersible

It was on 18th June 2023 that the Titan submersible of OceanGate left for its voyage in the North Atlantic Ocean with five passengers onboard. However, hours later after its descent into the ocean, the connection with the sub was lost. Post which the search to find the sub continued for days.

However, days after no whereabouts of the sub came out. It was announced that a debris field near the Titanic Wreck has been found. Later it came out that the sub that had gone for its trip to the Titanic Wreck has actually imploded due to extreme sea pressure killing all five passengers of it.

There’s been a TikTok video going viral of Titan’s submersible implosion sound and screams of the passengers. The video claims the sound heard in the video is of a Titan sub implosion and the scream of a passenger asking for help.

Ranging from 235 to 278 dB+, the sound was loud enough to kill anything within a radius of 4-5 MILES. The sound of the implosion itself is estimated to have easily covered around 70-80 miles in any direction.

Users have come across the video that has millions of views on the same. Many even reacted to it by being scared of hearing the sound. A user wrote, “It’s very chilling and haunting”. Another user wrote, “That’s actually kind of terrifying to hear”.

Is the sound of Titan implosion and scream going viral real?

Well, some of the debris from the Titan submersible has been recovered by the authorities. However, so far no sounds of the sub was recorded or released by the authorities. The viral going sound of Titan implosion and scream thus can be considered fake.

In fact, some of the sound used in the viral video was taken from movies. However, some of the users found the viral sound of screams and implosion to be real, feeling the situation of the five passengers that they must have gone through in the final moments of their life.
