Amber Heard is sticking to her word and donating her $7 million divorce settlement from Johnny Depp to charity. Savannah Guthrie interrogated the 36-year-old actress about being “caught in a lie” during her arduous defamation trial against her ex-husband and actor Depp. The actress spoke with the Today show for the first time since the trial, discussing what happened during her court procedures.
Savannah Guthrie questioned Amber Heard, who said that her husband worked as a consultant for Depp’s legal team. In the exclusive, Heard stated:
“I made a pledge, and pledges are made over time by their very nature.”
During the session, the Aquaman actress also confirmed that she intended to keep her promise. Guthrie then questioned the actress’s credibility while she was on the stand.
Amber Heard was pressed further on the topic by the journalist, who stated that everyone assumed the gift was complete because she declared on live that she had donated the entire amount. No one believed Guthrie had “promised” to do so, she added. The 50-year-old then inquired about Heard’s feelings of being “caught in a lie.”
Amber Heard’s “pledge” to donate to charity has gotten a lot of attention on the internet
While listening to the actress justify herself about contributing money to charity after it was proved that she had not finished the financial transaction, netizens were irritated. Executives from the ACLU also testified that they had not received any money from the actress since 2019 because of her “financial issues.”
The actress claimed she gave half of her divorce settlement to the ACLU and the other half to the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. The gifts, however, were not finalized.
Amber Heard was also accused of “lying” about the donations during her tough cross-examination with Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez. Heard admitted throughout the trial that she could not pay the whole sum due to legal bills incurred as a result of her husband’s lawsuit.
During the trial, she also claimed that she used the terms “pledged” and “donated” interchangeably.
Amber Heard needs to learn how to use a dictionary with all the synonyms she uses.

Another person stated, Still hasn’t paid it; a vow isn’t going to part with the money she had set aside for that purpose. #AmberHeard, we see you.
Amber Heard Says She Still Plans to Donate $7 Million Divorce Settlement, according to another source. ‘I Made a Promise,’ says the narrator.

While others have stated that she only said she donated to be altruistic and to dispel rumors that she was a gold digger, she is virtually confirming that she only said she donated to appear altruistic and to dispel rumors that she was a gold digger. Then she goes on to explain that she shouldn’t have had to set aside any monies for donation or keep any promises she made. So credible.
Basically she’s confirming that she only said she donated to appear altruistic and to squash rumours that she was a gold digger. And then goes on to say that she shouldn’t have had to set any funds aside for donation or follow through on any promise to donate. So credible 🙄

In a defamation trial earlier this month, a jury unanimously voted in favor of Johnny Depp against his ex-wife Heard. He was awarded $10.35 million in damages by the jury. After his lawyer defamed her by labeling her abuse charges a “hoax,” Heard was ordered to pay two million dollars in damages.
