Who was Vitali Shakun?

Kherson was manned by marine officer Vitali Shakun (Skakun Vitaliy Volodymyrovich) and his battalion at the Crimean intersection of the Henichesk bridge. The brave soldier blew up the car bridge that was already replete with landmines. The Russian troops advanced on it.

Moments later, Shakun sent a message to his fellow troopers, telling them he had made a decision. As a result of his sacrifice, the Russian advance was dramatically slowed. His battalion regrouped and launched a better-planned attack on the Russians.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared Shakun’s brave sacrifice online. One of the hardest spots for the Ukrainian people on the map of Ukraine was the Crimean intersection. One of the first enemies met a separate marine battalion. As shared in an elaborate Facebook post, “THE HEROES OF THE MOMENTUM. I patrolled the city with myself as we #stoprussia.”

To perform this task, Skakun Vitaliy Volodymyrovich, a sailor in a separate battalion, was called. There was no time for him to get out of there when the bridge was replaced. The brothers say Vitaliy came out of contact and told them what caused the bridge to collapse ridge.
