TWICE’s Jihyo took to Bubble to clear up a misunderstanding in regards to her most recent interview with Grammy Magazine, released on 25th August. TWICE’s Jihyo expressed that her remark was mistranslated. She referenced that she found there was a mistake when she ran over specific articles discussing it. The mistranslated remark being referred to was Jihyo saying that they, ‘didn’t realize that all group member has renewed their contracts until just before the official announcement’ by the company. Fans messed around, saying that it was their version of a trust fall since it was reportedly unexpected for the nine close-knit members not to discuss their contract renewals.

Albeit the mistranslation didn’t prompt a lot of harm, TWICE’s Jihyo needed to eliminate any confusion. She wanted fans to know that each of the nine members of the group know that it would be difficult to have everybody on the same page. She explained that it wasn’t so much that the members knew nothing about it until the agency posted an official announcement, however, they were uncertain about the renewal until the contracts were brought to them.

TWICE’s Jihyo Clarifies The Contract Renewal Comments In Grammy Magazine Interview

TWICE as of late made their highly anticipated company with the 11th Mini album titled ‘Between 1 &2’. It is the group’s first Korean comeback since each of the nine members of TWICE renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment. The group demonstrated they are here to stay, conflicting with the ‘seven-year curse’ that K-Pop groups frequently face. However, TWICE’s Jihyo shared some stunning info in regards to the contract renewals in their interview with GRAMMY Magazine. In view of the article released by GRAMMY Magazine, it seemed like the members didn’t know that they had all renewed their contracts until just before JYP Entertainment made the official announcement.

ONCE (TWICE fans) were dazed by the statement thinking that the members are so close. They would have anticipated that they all should discuss such conversations altogether. In any case, on the 26th of August, Jihyo took to the fan messaging application Bubble to explain the misunderstanding of GRAMMY.com’s translation. Over on Bubble, Jihyo explained that she read the article and realized that a mistranslation had happened. ‘I realized this while reading a portion of the articles [about us]. I think there had been a mistranslation!’ Jihyo said. She then, at that point, explained that she didn’t mean the members didn’t know about the others renewing their contracts until the official announcement, rather they didn’t have the foggiest idea how the renewals would turn out until they sat down to sign them.

‘I implied that none of us knew how the renewals would go until the contracts were really drafted and we plunked down to sign them. I was trying to explain that it isn’t the slightest bit simple for everybody to be on the same page,’ she said. Jihyo proceeded, It wasn’t guaranteed necessarily that we would all need to renew [contracts], which is fine since it is our lives! I wanted to accentuate that it was really critical that we were able to make our own decisions. However, I think the interview ended up getting translated otherwise.’ At last, she finishes up by reassuring fans that it ‘doesn’t matter’ as they are still TWICE. But yeah, whatever! [It] doesn’t matter since we are still TWICE, OT9. It isn’t that big of a deal whether we knew or not!!! She concluded.
