Trina has gone viral on social media due to a clip from her interview with HipHopDX. In the clip, she can be heard discussing Beyoncé and expressing her views on Beyoncé’s contribution to the rap industry. Trina went as far as to call Beyoncé the “Queen” of rap.

In an interview, Trina said, “Yeah, Beyoncé cuz she’s like the number one female rapper when she does rap”.

In her praise for Beyoncé she added: “It’s just one of those things like of course this is the Queen’s Beyoncé but when you hear her do a song and it’s rapping involved, it’s like, ‘Oh my God,’ like it just, it’s more inspiration and, um, I don’t know it’s just a good thing man”.

Though Trina believes Beyoncé is the queen of rap, netizens haven’t been convinced by what Trina said about Beyoncé. In fact, many went on to criticize the former for her statement about the Renaissance singer. Social media was flooded with reactions from netizens about Trina.

One of the users on social media wrote “The funny part about that Trina interview is not the Beyoncé opening doors comment it’s the fact that Trina has been in the game for 20+ years and couldn’t even say her own name”. Many came in support of Trina as well.

Trina hits back after facing backlash over Beyoncé statement

After facing backlash on social media for calling Beyoncé the “Queen” of rap, she recently took to her Instagram story to hit back at those who slammed her for the Beyoncé statement.

In her Instagram story, she wrote, “For the dusty crusty funky b**ches in the baccckkk(emoji showing one loudly speaking) Beyoncé is the queen of rap (when she raps) and ALL other genres of music”.

She added, “Now stay mad goofy’s I said what I said and NAAN b***h gone check me. [ mi**le finger emoji] Carry on [emoji of hot face]”. It seems like Trina isn’t bothered about what others have thought about her calling Beyoncé the best of all female rappers.
