Gleycy Correia, the former Miss Brazil, died on Monday, June 20th, at the age of 27 after complications from a routine tonsil operation. Correia was said to have been in a coma for more than two months following a major heart attack. The Macae resident was admitted to a private clinic on Monday, where she died.

Gleycy Correia’s body was also allegedly taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute of Macae for autopsy, according to the publication. Gleycy Correia’s funeral and burial plans were scheduled for Tuesday, June 21, morning. According to certain local websites, a wake was reportedly held on the day of her death.

Gleycy Correia apparently had heavy bleeding at first, followed by a heart attack, according to statements. According to other reports, Correia had been back at her home for almost five days before experiencing any issues.
“She had surgery to remove her tonsils and after five days at home. Experienced a hemorrhage,” Lidiane Alves Oliveira, Correia’s family priest, is quoted in the publication as saying. Went to Unimed on April 4 and had a heart arrest, and she has been in a coma with no neurological activity since then. She passed away today.” Jak Abreu, a local public personality and clergyman who claimed to be in contact with Gleycy Correia’s family, posted multiple times on Instagram about the late beauty queen. In one video, Abreu stated that her family was sure that the hospital had engaged in’malpractice,’ which resulted in her death. These charges could be one of the reasons for the late Brazilian entrepreneur and cosmetics artist’s autopsy.
