Tory Lanez has issued a new statement following his 10-year prison term for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, in which he refuses to accept responsibility for the crime. Tory Lanez issued an Instagram message on Thursday (Aug. 10) in which he discussed his sentencing. In it, he refuses to accept responsibility for the shooting incident for which he was found guilty in December 2022. “I have never let a difficult time intimidate me, and I have never let a jail sentence eliminate me,” the statement continues. I will continue to stand by my innocence, regardless of how they try to twist my words.

It was important for me to take responsibility for all of the verbal & intimate moments I had with the parties involved in this case,” he concluded in court. That’s all. In no way was I apologising for the charges I’m being falsely accused of. I maintain my view that I will not apologise for something I did not do.” “This is just another instance where my back is against the wall, and I refuse to stop fighting until I am victorious,” he added. Tory Lanez was sentenced to ten years in state prison on Tuesday (Aug. 8) for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020, bringing an end to a case that had polarised the hip-hop world for over three years. Tory addressed the court after his sentencing & apologised for some of his actions the night of the shooting.

In A New Statement Rapper Tory Lanez Denies Responsibility For Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez has issued a new statement following his 10-year prison term for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, in which he refuses to accept responsibility for the crime. Tory Lanez refuses to “apologise for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of” barely two days after receiving a ten-year prison sentence for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the feet in 2020. “I’ve never been intimidated by adversity.” “I will never let any jail time destroy me,” the “Say It” rapper, 31, began a long Instagram statement Thursday. No matter how they twist my words, I will continue to uphold my innocence.” “This week in court, I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate exchanges I had with the parties involved… that’s it,” he concluded. “In no way was I apologising for the charges I was wrongfully convicted of.” “I remain firm in my refusal to apologise for something I did not do,” Lanez continued. The “What’s Poppin” rapper went on to say that he’s always “faced adversity my whole life” and that his sentence is “nothing but another instance where my back is against the wall and yet I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious.” “Tough times don’t last, tough people do,” he said before concluding with a “thank you” to his fans. Lanez pointed a gun at Megan’s feet and ordered her to dance during a dispute during a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills house on July 12, 2020.

In December, he was convicted of three felonies: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and grossly negligent discharge of a firearm. During his sentence hearing on Tuesday, he spoke for several minutes, referring to Megan as “someone I still care for dearly to this day.” “The Colour Violet” rapper Daystar Peterson, real name Daystar Peterson, also addressed his behaviour following the shooting: “I said some very immature things that I shouldn’t have said.” I spilled some secrets I shouldn’t have.” Lanez’s legal team announced on Tuesday that they intend to appeal the sentence and conviction and that they will try to have the Canadian rapper freed on bail while their motions are being processed. Prosecutors had sought a sentence of 13 years. “We’re extremely disappointed,” Jose Baez, Lanez’s lead attorney, said outside the courthouse Tuesday. As a prosecutor, I have seen vehicular homicides and other cases in which the defendant was sentenced to less than ten years even though there had been death. Baez believes the sentence was “merely another instance of someone who was punished for his celebrity status and someone who was being used as an example.” But he hasn’t set an example himself. He is a human being.
