Tom Holland’s Twitter account is hacked, involving the actor in a SpiderVerse crypto scam, raising concerns and sparking discussions online.

Tom Holland, best known for his role as Spider-Man, found himself at the center of attention once again, but this time, not for his usual heroic feats on screen. On Tuesday, April 16, his Twitter account was seemingly compromised, leading to a series of cryptic tweets promoting a Spider-Verse-themed cryptocurrency scam.

The hack began with a tweet announcing a partnership with @Binance for the launch of “Spiderverse,” urging fans to register for early access to $SPIDER coin and Spiderverse NFTs. Despite Holland’s lack of prior involvement in cryptocurrency ventures, his absence from social media likely made his account an easy target for hackers. Although the initial tweet promoting the scam was swiftly removed, the link was added to his Twitter bio, further indicating the account’s compromise.

Interestingly, the hack coincided with the return of Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man film to select theaters on April 15, adding a bizarre twist to the timing of events. Moreover, the hacker added to the intrigue by posting a selfie featuring an inverted face reveal with a mask, accompanied by a cheeky caption referencing the iconic upside-down kiss scene from the original Spider-Man movie.

As news of the hack spread, confused fans took to social media to express their reactions. While some found humor in the situation, others expressed relief that their beloved actor hadn’t genuinely endorsed the cryptocurrency scheme. Memes and jokes flooded Twitter, with users poking fun at the absurdity of the situation.

However, amidst the chaos, some users pointed out the downside of Tom Holland’s absence from social media. They noted that his silence prevented him from defending his Romeo & Juliet West End Play co-star, Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, who faced backlash and racist remarks following casting news.

Ultimately, the incident served as a reminder of the risks associated with online security and the importance of remaining vigilant against cyber threats. While Tom Holland’s account may have been temporarily compromised, the incident highlighted the supportive fanbase rallying behind the actor and the need for heightened cybersecurity measures in the digital age.
