Tom Holland Receives Backlash For Explicit Scenes In ‘The Crowded Room,’ Fans Are Shocked

Tom Holland has become a prominent character when he took on the role of Spiderman and charmed the Internet through his charisma. The Crowded Room, a psychological thriller miniseries starring the 27-year-old, is presently available on Netflix. A contentious moment from the Apple TV+ show caused widespread outrage. In The Crowded Room, Holland plays Danny Sullivan, a criminal with dissociative identity disorder modelled on Billy Milligan. A recent episode of the show has provoked outrage and controversy online. In an intimate scene, the British actor can be seen disguised as his character Danny’s feminine alter-ego as he becomes engaged with another man. Netizens were taken aback, and comments ranged from homophobic remarks and humorous memes to defending tweets in Holland’s favour. Several users have chastised the actor for taking on scandalous parts after playing Spiderman, while others have accused them of being homophobic and unable to differentiate between actor and character.

“Totally heinous what they are putting out,” one user remarked. Idk whether there’s a movie or TV show with Tom Holland, the mfer who many Gen Z kids idolise, getting his cheeks slapped. Literally getting F*CKED up against a wall. “What a satanic switcheroo.” “Come on Tom Holland, you’re making the remainder of us spider dudes look bad [facepalm emoji],” added another. Several others tweeted their opposition to Holland, writing, “Not my Spiderman.” Meanwhile, some people chastised them for their open bigotry, pointing out that every Spiderman actor has played an LGBTQ+ character. “Seeing fragile cishet men having tantrums over the reason Tom Holland is trending is a lovely wine to me,” one user said. Oh, you do realize he’s an ACTOR, right? He’s not Spiderman AT ALL. Yes, he can play any character he wants, including queer ones. Now take a deep breath and touch some grass.” Another commenter informed the trolls that the other Spiderman actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, had also played gay characters. However, the show did not begin with such vigour, but it now appears to have pushed quite the distance at episode 8.
