Timbaland responded to an audience member’s questioning regarding the renewed interest in the producer’s Timberlake collaboration “Cry Me a River” following the publishing of Spears’ biography by saying, “She goin’ nuts, right? “I wanted to call JT and tell him, ‘You’ve got to muzzle that girl.'” After a day of social media outrage, Timbaland took to TikTok to apologize. “I apologise to the Britney fans and her,” he remarked after reading a comment concerning his attitude towards women. “‘You are familiar with respecting women?'” Yes, absolutely.” Spears says in an excerpt from her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” that Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” music video depicted her as a villain following the fallout from their widely publicised relationship. The video showed Timberlake coping with an unfaithful lover who resembled Spears, perhaps validating a media-fueled rumor that she was cheating on Timberlake. Spears depicts the footage in the book as “a woman who appears to me cheats on him while he wanders around heartbroken in the rain.”
