4 min readTimbaland apologized for his “muzzle” comment about Britney Spears. She had discussed her abortion and her relationship with her ex, Justin Timberlake, in her new book. After facing backlash on social media, the music producer Timbaland apologized for suggesting that Justin Timberlake “should have put a muzzle on” Britney Spears, just as her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” was released. Britney revealed significant discoveries about her life and work in her biography, which was one of the year’s most talked-about book releases. She also discussed some of the most difficult aspects of her relationship with her lover, musician Justin Timberlake, notably an abortion she had since he ‘wasn’t prepared to have a baby’.
Timbaland is under fire for saying Justin Timberlake should have put a “muzzle” on Britney Spears, following the release of her memoir:

During a live interview with 9th Wonder last month, Timbaland responded to an audience member’s query on the revived interest in his 2002 song, Cry Me a River, with Justin Timberlake, after the publishing of Britney Spears’ memoir, saying, “She (is) going crazy, right? “I wanted to call Justin Timberlake and say, ‘Man, you ought to have muzzled her.'” Supporters flooded X (formerly Twitter) in her defense, condemning Timberlake for being misogynistic. Timbaland apologised for his comments on Britney on TikTok on Tuesday. Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake dated between 1999 to 2002, and she revealed details about their relationship in her memoir, involving an abortion.

Timbaland Issues An Apology After Stating Justin Timberlake Should Have ‘Put a Muzzle’ On Britney Spears
Timbaland has apologised for suggesting during an Oct. 29 live interview with 9th Wonder at the Kennedy Centre that Justin Timberlake “should have put a muzzle” on Britney Spears. Timbaland responded to an audience member’s questioning regarding the renewed interest in the producer’s Timberlake collaboration “Cry Me a River” following the publishing of Spears’ biography by saying, “She goin’ nuts, right? “I wanted to call JT and tell him, ‘You’ve got to muzzle that girl.'” After a day of social media outrage, Timbaland took to TikTok to apologize. “I apologise to the Britney fans and her,” he remarked after reading a comment concerning his attitude towards women. “‘You are familiar with respecting women?'” Yes, absolutely.” Spears says in an excerpt from her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” that Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” music video depicted her as a villain following the fallout from their widely publicised relationship. The video showed Timberlake coping with an unfaithful lover who resembled Spears, perhaps validating a media-fueled rumor that she was cheating on Timberlake. Spears depicts the footage in the book as “a woman who appears to me cheats on him while he wanders around heartbroken in the rain.”
Timbaland saying that Justin Timberlake should have put a “muzzle” on Britney is actually INSANE considering Britney has been treated like a caged animal for the past 13 years. pic.twitter.com/PjIQoZIydm

She claims that the media attention she received as a result of the release of the music video transformed her into a “harlot who’d shattered the heart of America’s golden boy,” when in reality she had been “comatose in Louisiana” suffering a broken heart & Timberlake was “happily frolicking around Hollywood.” Timbaland co-wrote & co-produced “Cry Me a River,” as well as singing the bridge and appearing in the music video. He also worked with Timberlake on his 2006 blockbuster album “FutureSex/LoveSounds” and his 2013 album “The 20/20 Experience.” He told Variety earlier this year that he had finished recording Timerlake’s new album, which he described as “FutureSex” Part 2. The pop diva Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake dated from 1999 to 2002, while she revealed details about their relationship in her memoir, including an abortion. In an excerpt first published by People, she described the pregnancy as a “surprise,” even though she had always “expected” to begin a family alongside Justin Timberlake. “However, Justin was displeased with the pregnancy. “He said we weren’t prepared to have a baby because we were way too young,” Britney says, adding, “To this day, it has been one of the most excruciating things in my life.” Justin played guitar for her after she had an abortion in an attempt to comfort her.

Timbaland saying that Justin Timberlake should put a muzzle on Britney is so damn gross. Not only did he basically call her bitch without coming out saying it, he’s also trying to silence her!
