3 min readThe talented Hollywood star Dua Lipa has been put together to face yet another lawsuit, this time over the Levitating song melody. Dua Lipa has been having a difficult time with all these lawsuits been thrown at her in the recent times.

A Hoax In The Name Of The Lawsuit
A TikToker recently released a viral claim with the username ‘Mathias Morte says Dua Lipa’s case of “Levitating”, secondly on allegations of copyright infringement, could be a scam.
26-year-old pop star Dua Lipa has recently been accused of cheating. Their 2020 song “Levitating” sounds very similar to the song “Live Your Life” by the band Artikal Sound System, which they reportedly released in 2017.
The band quickly filed a lawsuit, with previously reported TMZ seeking the song.
However, not everyone is convinced that the case is legal.

On March 4, the TikTok star was named Matthew Morte who specializes in music production, uploading a video in which he discusses the Dua Lipa Levitating case from the artist’s point of view.
Morte explains that the song “Live Your Life” belongs to the Artikal Sound System and Lipa’s “Levitating” has the same key and has the same continuous chord. But that alone is not enough to prove copyright in another song, according to TikToker.
Morte’s view that Lipa’s case is false is based on the fact that all versions of Artikal The “Live Your Life” sound systems have only been released on YouTube for the past few days. The only version of “Live Your Life” that was missing a few days ago was a copy of a song uploaded to Soundcloud years ago, which quickly realized that the forum allows you to change audio files and comments and delete them.

Conclusion
Although Morte’s view strongly supports the notion that the case is fraudulent, sufficient evidence has been presented to establish that Lipa is clear or not and has no copyright infringement. It is dicey to say anything as of now, because the situation is equally tilted towards either way. However, one cannot rule out the possibility and facts pointed out by Morte.
