A TikTok video featuring an antique store selling items at prices far above their worth has gone viral. The antique store was selling a brass swan trio at a price of $220. However, it had a Goodwill price tag on it for a price of $8.99. Angel Munoz, the Tiktoker by the name of @angelmunoz90
The video resurfaced several times after the user uploaded the same. The user shot the 20-second video while he was walking around in the store, down a checkered path. His attention was then drawn to a trio of brass swans on the ground. Checking the price tag on one, he discovered the “brass swan family,” which included all three, cost $220.

As he flipped the brass swan, he said that it might have a cool history. Another possibility for it costing $220 might be that it was hand-made. Then, to his surprise he discovered that a price tag of Goodwill was attached to it, revealing that the original price was $8.99.
The user exclaimed “Nevermind” while putting the swan down. The viral video has received over 194,000 likes and 1,700 comments. The revelation received humongous amounts of criticism as the people weren’t happy with the recent discovery of the antique store. One of the TikTokers even said that this is the reason why they don’t thrift anymore.
The American retail market for consignment, resale, and not-for-profit resale stores estimates to be over 25,000, according to NARTS. Based on the results of America’s Research Group, NARTS reported that 16 to 18% of Americans shop at thrift stores in a year. In addition, the results revealed that about 12 to 15 percent shop at consignment and resale stores.
