A TikToker has gone viral after disclosing secret room at some Target locations, which they claim are used to keep an eye on consumers near the checkout line.

For example, one woman’s “hack” for $2 Chipotle burritos went viral, while the app’s popular “shower jeans” method had people trying out the benefits of showering with pants on for themselves.

This latest revelation, however, is causing all Target regulars to raise an eyebrow, as the retailer is now the subject of intense online scrutiny.

Over 4.4 million people have watched the video

Since it was posted a day ago, the video has received over 4.4 million views.

‘Santi,’ a T arget employee and TikTok user, posted a video at the self-checkout area on May 3, 2022, before turning the camera to see a number of mirrors lining the top of a far wall towards the ceiling.

These aren’t your typical mirrors, as Santi demonstrated by climbing a flight of steps to reveal that they’re actually two-way mirrors that look out upon the business from a “hidden area.”

The facility looks to be designed particularly for staff, with offices and meeting room as well as a viewing area overlooking the store floor.

“They are watching you if you see mirrors like these in a Target,” Santi captioned the video.

Netizens take on the situation

With some humorous remarks, viewers are offering their opinions on the matter.

“Well they aren’t doing a good job,” one commenter said. “Cause I walked out with an air fryer.”

“Wait, you’re going to watch me do what?” another person wrote. “Try and find one that isn’t cropped?”

Another user remarked, “Mans snitched on his own firm.”

It’s safe to say that this has made us more alert of any mirrors in our local Target — a chain that was recently criticised after a TikToker discovered a plethora of brand-new bikes in a dumpster behind a Target shop.
