Although it is a pure fabrication, TikTok users think that China is producing zombies. These bizarre rumours have their origins in an opinion piece that was written and published by the website We Are The Might in July 2021.

The essay discussed the possibility of a zombie apocalypse and proposed some of its potential causes, claiming that Communist nations like China are most likely to host an outbreak. Although the story appears to contain no facts or realities, it has managed to make its way to TikTok and has caused alarm among its members, many of whom have expressed their concerns online.

What was said in the article regarding a zombie invasion of China?

The essay, which was written by Ruddy Cano, was published online on July 16, 2021. “This is how a zombie apocalypse is most likely to start in China,” the subtitle declares.

According to the author, a communist nation like China would be the most likely place for a zombie apocalypse to start because they would keep the news of an outbreak a secret until it got out of hand.

The paper asserted: Using the Chernobyl accident of 1986 as its example: “Communist countries have time and again chosen to suppress information until it is no longer deniable. In 1986, when the Chernobyl disaster happened, the Soviet Union refused to acknowledge a problem until other countries had irrefutable proof something was wrong.”

According to the essay, in the event of the apocalypse, the Chinese populace would lie and claim that “the epidemic was natural rather than criminal negligence” in order to avoid appearing “powerless” in front of the globe.

The author claimed that given China’s population, the zombie apocalypse there might prove to be fatal and that the authorities of the nation will “lie” and withhold the facts from the outside world until it becomes uncontrollable.

The author also made unfounded statements, claiming that China wants to develop “bioweapons” and would try to concentrate on maximizing profits in the event of an outbreak. He predicted that the CCP will try to develop a zombie vaccine and market it to other nations.

The rumor made online users anxious

Users who were perplexed and terrified turned to social media to ask about the zombie scenario. Breaking complete terror that a zombie apocalypse is imminent and that it’s all beginning in China, wrote one user.

Someone else remarked, “ZOMBIES IN CHINA??? Bye, I’m going to kill myself before they catch me!

Another questioned why TikTok users were claiming that there were zombies in China.

A video of a woman started making the rounds on social media last year, sparking a similar rumor that went viral. The woman was experiencing mental difficulty when the video was made.
