After making an appearance on August 8, 2022, in the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Storyline Online series, Lea Michele is putting an end to allegations that she is illiterate. The children’s book Rosie Revere, Engineer, written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts, was read aloud by the Broadway actress in the video.

After the actress addressed the crowd at a June event in Napa valley and purportedly poked fun at the claims by saying, “I didn’t go to college, you guys, and look at me,” internet rumors about her incapacity to read and write began to circulate.

She is once again disproving conspiracy theories with the most recent video.

After reading the book, the Funny Girl actress urged kids to “dream big and never give up” in the accompanying video. She uttered:

“This book’s message that you can succeed as long as you try is what I appreciate about it the most. Rosie inspires us to have great dreams and never give up since she is so creative. We appreciate you viewing Storyline Online. Check out all of our stories, please.

The Glee alum has joined the likes of stars like Kristen Bell, Oprah Winfrey, and Kevin Costner who have all previously participated in the YouTube series with the Storyline Online video.

How did internet claims that Lea Michele couldn’t read and write get started?

After a 40-minute film titled Lea Michele Is Illiterate surfaced online in 2018, the weird belief that the 35-year-old actress is illiterate gained traction.

For their podcast, One More Thing, Jaye Hunt and Robert Ackerman produced the video. After Michele’s former co-star Naya Rivera made a similar guess in her biography, the two made up the theory as a joke.

Although the old video is no longer accessible online, one idea on TikTok argued that Michele did not have time to learn to read and write. She spent much of her life onstage while playing for Broadway’s Les MisĆ©rables.

Another online hypothesis asserted that Ryan Murphy cast Michele in his films. He promised to give her lines as they were being shot so she would recall them more easily.

Another rumor suggested that the Scream Queens actress’s staff actually manages her social media profiles. Many people noticed that the majority of her social media posts are heavily emoji-heavy, which gave rise to this notion.

Lea Michele replies to charges that she is illiterate

Michele addressed the accusations when mingling with the crowd at a concert in Napa in June 2022. You don’t need to attend college to work in theatre, the Emmy nominee asserted. You people, I didn’t attend college and look at me. Online rumors claim that I am illiterate, which may have something to do with the fact that I skipped college.

Lea Michele also debunked the conspiracy claim on Twitter in 2018 when it initially arose. The New Yorker tweeted in response, “Loved READING this tweet and wanted to WRITE you back. I am literally laughing out at everything. I adore you!

Given that the actress cancelled her account on the app, the tweet is no longer available.

Despite the fact that allegations about Lea Michele’s illiteracy have circulated on social media, it appears that she has repeatedly made an effort to refute them.
