Tiffany Haddish responds to child sexual abuse lawsuit

Tiffany Haddish took to her Instagram handle on Monday to address the issue of being accused of child sexual abuse.

She began with, ‘I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you.’

The 42-year-old celebrity added, ‘Unfortunately because there is an ongoing legal case. There’s very little that I can say right now.’

Furthermore, the statement read, ‘But clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all. And I deeply regret having agreed to act in it.’

She ended by saying, ‘I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can.’

Tiffany Haddish was sued over child sexual abuse

According to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week, Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears were accused of ‘grooming and molesting’ two then-minor siblings.

Reports claim that the celebrities made the siblings, identified as Jane Doe (now 22) and John Doe (now 14), participate in allegedly sexually suggestive videos.

In the lawsuit, Jane mentioned that she was taught by Haddish how to mimic fellatio for a skit in 2013 when she was 14 years old.

Jane wrote, ‘I tried to mimic what they wanted me to mimic, but it still came out just super uncomfortable.’

Furthermore, a year later in 2014, the Girls Trip actress recruited Jane’s 7-year-old brother in a video titled, ‘Through A Pedophile’s Eyes.’

It was alleged that the video shows Spears lusting over a 7-year-old child and molesting him.

However, Haddish’s lawyer, Andrew Brettler denied the claims. He further alleged that the plaintiff’s mother, Trizah Morris, has ‘been trying to assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years.’

Brettler added, ‘Every attorney who has initially taken on her case – and there were several – ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms. Haddish would not be shaken down.’

Moreover, he said, ‘Now, Ms. Morris has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action.’

Meanwhile, Spears’ attorney, Debra Opri mentioned, ‘He isn’t going to fall for any shakedown.’
