After being inspired by Gorimbo’s story about his bank account decreasing to $7 before his first UFC win, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson surprised UFC competitor Themba Gorimbo with the gift of a new home. The 51-year-old Johnson released a video on Thursday in which he surprises Gorimbo at a gym and then reveals a home he’s leased for him in Miami. Gorimbo is from Zimbabwe, and he recently transferred his UFC earnings to his village to help build a well. Johnson, a well-known MMA fan who presented the “BMF” title for a fight involving Jorge Masvidal & Nate Diaz in 2019, said Gorimbo’s story touched him especially because he remembers having $7 to his name in Miami prior to his breakthrough in pro wrestling and entertainment.

He truly runs his own production company, Seven Bucks Production. Gorimbo (11-4) became upset during the interaction and stated that he had admired Johnson since he was a child. He fights in the welterweight class and has a 1-1 record since joining the UFC earlier this year. Prior to Johnson’s unexpected gift, he had been sleeping on a couch at his MMA Masters gym in Miami. The UFC fighter was overcome with emotion as he toured his new digs, telling the generous actor that he would use the gift to continue giving back to his community. Gorimbo pledged to the star, ‘believe me,’ that he would become champion.

The Rock Surprises UFC Fighter Themba Gorimbo With A New House After He Wins His First Fight

There are numerous examples of celebrities who, as a result of their newfound fame, buy a home for their mother, a car for their father, or their first house for their own family. However, for some long-established superstars, these acts of compassion will continue and be extended to those in need. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently surprised UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo with a huge surprise. The 32-year-old recently defeated Takashi Sato at UFC Vegas 73 & announced plans to auction off his fight gear to help fund the construction of a new water well in his native Zimbabwe. “I was more thrilled raising that money than I was following my win,” Gorimbo told MMA Fighting. “I have no entitlement when I assist these individuals in building the borehole and helping the kids pay for their school supplies when I get home. I don’t want to return just to say, ‘I helped you guys.’ I never want to witness that again, yet happiness can only help me. When I help, I feel great, and when I feel great, I’m dangerous [in MMA].” Prior to this initial win, he revealed that he had only $7 in his bank account. The combatant had been sleeping on a couch in the gym’s back corner. Gorimbo’s story inspired Johnson, who famously chased his own aspirations despite having only $7 to his name. In honor of that terrible period in his life, he later called his own production firm Seven Bucks Productions.

So, The Rock paid Gorimbo a visit and shocked him in a video shared with X. Despite the fact that we have never met, I made the trip to Miami just to see and hug @TheAnswerMMA, and shake his hand. His story has impacted and inspired me.” Johnson explained Gorimbo’s condition, stating, “I just want to help the guy out.” In the spirit of giving back, the star purchased a home in Miami for the once-homeless warrior. Johnson took Gorimbo to the new residence, telling him, “I intended to look you in the eyes and tell you welcome home.” The UFC fighter was overcome with emotion as he toured his new house, telling the generous actor that he was going to use the gift to keep giving back to his community. “Welcome home, @TheAnswerMMA,” Johnson posted on X. Your new house brother is a hit with you and your family. The lights are turned on. The bills have been paid. Keep your ‘My Reason’ list close, continue to take care of your people, and I’m honored to play a very, very little part in your $7 dollar adventure. $7 dollars. I’ve been there as well. I’ve got your back, man. Let’s get started on that goal of one day becoming a UFC champion. DJ, welcome home.” Gorimbo pledged to the star, ‘believe me,’ that he would become champion.
