In response to a video of Nate Schatzline dressed in drag, netizens ridiculed him. It comes after the legislator introduced a bill that would restrict drag performances. The lawmaker can be seen in a video shared on TikTok and Twitter this week skipping, dancing, and running with three other people dressed in costumes in a park. As for himself, he was wearing a black sequined sleeveless dress with a red eye mask over it. In the video, which lasted roughly 90 seconds, the names of the four participants were revealed, including Nate Schatzline, who played a character named “The Virgin”. In response to the video, the State Representative shared another video on Twitter. His friends challenged him to wear a dress as a teenager, so the left-wing media attacked him over that. This response led to Nate being trolled by netizens.

During the video, the Twitter user who posted it referenced the lawmaker and said he developed his entire personality around “attacking the LGBTQ community.” Texas Business and Commerce Code was amended with the new legislation, which defined an establishment that hosts drag shows and permits on-premises alcohol beverage consumption as a “sexually oriented business”. According to the legislation, such businesses cannot permit anyone under the age of 18 to enter their premises, according to Texas state law. Drag performances are being restricted in at least a dozen other US states. These bills were supported by those concerned that children and their innocence should be protected from sexualized and inappropriate entertainment.

A Video Of Nate Schatzline In Drag Goes Viral, And A Texas Lawmaker Is Trolled For His Response

Netizens ridiculed Texas legislator Nate Schatzline after he responded to a video of him in drag. As a result of the legislator’s bill, drag performances are now prohibited in Texas. According to a video that circulated on TikTok and Twitter this week, the lawmaker skipped dancing and running while accompanied by three others dressed in costumes. A black sleeveless sequined dress adorned with a red eye mask accompanied his attire. Approximately 90 seconds into the video, the names of the four participants were revealed, including Nate Schatzline, whose character was called “The Virgin”. In response to the video, the State Representative shared another video on Twitter. Several netizens trolled Nate for his response. According to Nate’s response video, it’s been an interesting week, as left-wing news media has done exactly what they do, which is to twist stories into being something that they aren’t. He explained that he was wearing a black dress as part of a school project and that they wouldn’t let the video detract from the real message of what they were trying to accomplish in the Texas legislature. As the Twitter user who posted the clip noted, the lawmaker built his entire character based on “attacking the LGBTQ community,” while dressed in drag himself.

Users criticized both Nate Schatzline and Tennessee governor Bill Lee for proposing bills criminalizing drag, despite both dressing in drag themselves. The new legislation amends Texas’ Business and Commerce Code and defines drag shows and the consumption of alcoholic beverages on-premise as sexually oriented businesses. The legislation stipulates that such businesses cannot allow a person under the age of 18 to enter their premises, according to the Texas state code. As per the measure, drag performances are anything where the performer shows a different gender identity than their birth gender through makeup, clothing, or other means. There have been proposals from legislators in at least a dozen other US states to restrict drag performances. In support of these bills, supporters argued that children and their innocence should be protected from sexualized and inappropriate entertainment. Nevertheless, critics have argued that these lawmakers unfairly targeted a form of art that has deep roots in the LGBTQ community and that they wrongly portrayed drag performances as obscene as a whole.
