An Impersonator Of Rapper 6ix9ine In Cuba Throws Money Into The Crowd Causing Chaos

Cuban authorities are investigating 6ix9ine after someone impersonating the rapper threw money into the crowd outside the rapper’s hotel and chaos ensued. As reported in the Miami Herald on Friday (Feb. 17), a 6ix9ine impersonator threw what appears to be money into a crowd, causing a riot. It appears that the Brooklyn, NY rapper’s fans gathered outside the Grand Packard Iberostar hotel in Havana’s Old Havana neighbourhood on Thursday morning (Feb. 16) after someone started throwing money from a car. People rushed to grab the alleged currency as soon as it was discovered. Several local media outlets reported that 6ix9ine was staying at a five-star hotel when the money was thrown from a balcony. However, all of that information could not be verified. An individual is seen standing on top of a car throwing money in a video that surfaced on Twitter. In the air, what looks like dollar bills are floating as people rush towards the area. Several Cuban officials have condemned the act and called it “disrespectful” to Cuba, according to the Cuban news website Informacion.

Two people outside the singer, one of them pretending to be him, threw bills at the population in a disrespectful manner and with a clear intention to provoke, according to the Ministry. Despite the chaotic incident, 6ix9ine clarified, in an Instagram Story that has since expired, that he wasn’t responsible, rather it was someone impersonating him who caused the disruption. After that, Tekashi uploaded another video that he apparently took from the hotel’s window of people running and screaming outside and captioned it: Someone dressed like me is crazy. Los amo. Cuba. The rapper’s visit to Havana is unclear, as is the purpose of his visit and what license if any he is using. Although tourism to Cuba is still prohibited, the Biden administration renewed its “people-to-people” educational travel permit for groups visiting the island. While travelling in another state or country, 6ix9ine is known for giving out large sums of cash to unsuspecting citizens.
