You’ve probably heard some of Taylor Swift’s Midnights by now. Those of you who have managed to stay away are in the minority. It’s safe to say that Taylor Swift’s latest studio album is a confirmed huge hit, one that doesn’t come around as often as Halley’s Comet. With her latest release, TayTay has racked up numerous records all over the world, including in Australia and both sides of the Atlantic. None of these is more eye-popping than her top 10 spots on the U.S. singles chart. Taylor Swift holds all 10 spots for the first time in the 64-plus year history of the Billboard Hot 100, with all the tracks coming from one album.

For the first time in her career, Midnights sold 1.578 million chart copies in the U.S., the world’s largest recorded music market. According to Billboard, Adele’s third album 25, released in 2015, accumulated the highest streaming number for any artist in the streaming era at 3.38 million. It’s a similar story in Australia, where Taylor Swift’s latest album Midnight impacts to No. 1 and nine of its songs swarm the Top 10 on the ARIA Chart — another record — including the song titled Anti-hero.

Taylor Swift Extends The Chart Reign In Australia With Midnight And Anti-Hero

With the biggest volume week of any album in five years, Taylor Swift’s Midnights (via Universal) darts to No. 1 on Australia’s music charts. With more combined sales than any other title since Taylor Swift’s Reputation, also No. 1 in 2017, Midnights tops the ARIA Chart. With this album, Taylor Swift achieves her 10th No. 1 ARIA album. Taylor Swift’s latest No. 1 single, “Anti-Hero,” is her ninth No. 1 single in the last two years after “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” in 2021. As a two-time winner of the best international artist trophy at the ARIA Awards in 2019 and 2021, the U.S. pop star is shortlisted for 2022’s best international artist. On the national albums chart, Taylor Swift continues to dominate with Midnights and “Anti-Hero”, while Louis Tomlinson defeats Bruce Springsteen for runner-up. A string of Midnights tracks is still dominating the ARIA Singles Chart, including Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero,” entering its fourth week atop.

Over 10,000 slabs of vinyl have been sold with Midnights becoming the most-streamed album in ARIA history, according to Universal Music Australia. In Australia, it’s her highest-selling album since Reputation in 2017, which was her 10th No. 1. Midnights remain a knockout even though the UK charts compilers introduced criteria five years ago to prevent blackouts similar to those seen in the U.S. and Australia. As well as nudging Australia’s own princess of pop. With Midnights, Taylor Swift becomes the second female artist with the most No. 1 singles in the UK, passing Kylie Minogue. Taylor Swift is now the only female solo artist to have the highest number of UK Nos as well as extend her lead. Amid a maximum of three Midnights tracks that all open in the top 5, “Anti-Hero” lands a chart double as one of the highest-charting albums of the century. According to Consequence of Sound, Midnights broke 73 records as it debuted at No. 1 in 14 countries.
