Takeoff’s Brother Slams Offset for Involving Late Rapper in Cardi B Divorce Drama

Offset has found himself in hot water once again, but this time it’s not just with his estranged wife Cardi B. The rapper has received backlash from YRN Lingo, the brother of the late Migos rapper Takeoff, for mentioning his brother in the midst of his ongoing marital drama.
Earlier this week, Offset and Cardi B’s relationship troubles exploded across social media, with both accusing each other of cheating. Offset, in a now-deleted post, claimed Cardi had slept with another man while pregnant, while Cardi shot back, accusing him of hooking up with her rivals. Their public feud escalated, and during the spat, Offset referenced advice from people close to him, including Takeoff, further igniting the controversy. “Listen to your ppl take and the bros TOld me,” Offset tweeted, alluding to advice from his late bandmate.
This comment did not sit well with YRN Lingo, Takeoff’s younger brother, who swiftly responded on Instagram, calling out Offset for dragging Takeoff into the personal drama. “My brother ain’t tell him sh*t,” YRN Lingo wrote, adding, “Let my twin rest.” The post made it clear that Takeoff’s family does not appreciate his name being brought up in a negative context, especially given the strained relationship Offset had with Takeoff before his tragic passing.
The rift between Offset and Takeoff began around 2022, when the Migos trio broke up. While Offset pursued a solo career, Takeoff and Quavo continued as a duo, leaving behind the group dynamic that had catapulted them to fame. Despite their professional split, the emotional toll of Takeoff’s death has weighed heavily on Offset, who admitted in a 2023 interview with Variety that his passing left him heartbroken. “That sh*t hurts. Some things I don’t never tell nobody. He’s not here,” Offset said, reflecting on the loss.

This isn’t the first time Takeoff’s name has been caught up in Offset’s public disputes. Back in December 2022, during another rough patch in Offset and Cardi’s relationship, the rapper lashed out at fans who brought up Takeoff on social media. “Fan wishing death on Takeoff is crazy, y’all lil ass better chill,” he tweeted, before clarifying, “Fans using Takeoff’s name in the middle of all this isn’t cool. I’m still grieving my brother, and would like for his name to not be brought up.”
Fellow Migos member Quavo also weighed in, expressing his disapproval of Takeoff’s name being involved in public drama. “Nephew ain’t wit the soap opera LONG LIVE Rocket,” Quavo wrote, using Takeoff’s nickname, Rocket. He added, “Pray for y’all tho,” indicating that he didn’t want to see their personal conflicts overshadow the memory of Takeoff.

Despite the backlash, Offset’s week wasn’t all bad. He recently celebrated a career milestone, securing his first-ever Diamond plaque for his collaboration with Tyga on the hit song “Taste.” However, the celebration was overshadowed by his escalating feud with Cardi B, which played out on Instagram, with both parties hurling accusations at each other. At one point, Cardi even posted explicit text messages between her and Offset, further fanning the flames of their public argument.
As Offset continues to battle personal and professional challenges, his decision to reference Takeoff during this tumultuous time has reignited old wounds. Many fans and those close to Takeoff are urging him to keep the late rapper’s name out of the fray, respecting the memory of a beloved figure in the rap community. YRN Lingo’s firm message serves as a reminder that while the drama between Offset and Cardi B may be ongoing, some things—like the legacy of a lost loved one—should remain untouched.
