Susan Boyle returns to Britain’s Got Talent after suffering from a stroke last year

Susan Boyle made a surprise appearance at the season 16 finale of Britain’s Got Talent on Sunday 4th June.

Moreover, she took to the stage to belt out the lyrics of I Dreamed A Dream with the West End cast of Les Misérables.

For the unversed, she sang the same smash hit during her audition back in 2009.

Nevertheless, host Declan Donnelly remarked, ‘Susan, it is so lovely to see you, welcome.’

He added, ‘It’s hard to believe that you appeared on this show in 2009, 14 years ago.’

Subsequently, he went on to ask her, ‘How does it feel to be back on Britain’s Got Talent?’

Boyle replied with a smile saying, ‘It feels great! It’s extra special for me actually because last April there I suffered a minor stroke and I thought it would be crazy to be back on stage and I have done it!’

The show’s creator and main judge Simon Cowell revealed that he knew back then that she was unwell. In addition, the show has a lot to thank her for.

He mentioned, ‘Susan we owe you so much and I knew you weren’t well but if anyone was going to come back you were going to come back because we wouldn’t be the same without you! You are amazing.’

Donnelly on the other hand said, ‘It’s great to see you and it’s great to have you back home!’

Meanwhile, Boyle made it through the finals of the series in 2009. However, she narrowly missed out on winning the top prize to the dance group Diversity.
