Steve Harvey Did Not Flee Country Amid Diddy’s Arrest: Debunking Viral YouTube Rumor

Recently, a viral YouTube video sparked rumors that comedian and TV personality Steve Harvey fled the country following the arrest of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The claim surfaced on September 25, when the YouTube channel CELEB LIVE posted a video with the sensational headline, “FBI Hunting Steve Harvey After He FLEES The Country On Diddy’s ARREST Day!” The video quickly gained traction, amassing nearly a million views in less than 24 hours.
Despite the attention it garnered, the claims made in the video are entirely false. There is no credible evidence linking Steve Harvey to Diddy’s arrest, nor is there any proof that Harvey fled the United States. This viral narrative seems to have been fabricated, with the sole intention of generating clicks and views.
What Really Happened?
The YouTube video in question portrays Steve Harvey as potentially facing arrest and fleeing the country after Diddy’s legal troubles came to light. It even featured a manipulated image of Harvey in an orange prison jumpsuit, making it appear as though he had been arrested. However, this image is a clear case of digital manipulation or AI-generated content.
The video does not provide any substantiated evidence to back up these claims. While it heavily focuses on Diddy’s ongoing legal battles, including interviews with lawyers and news clippings, the portions that mention Harvey discuss his career and personal life, particularly his time on Family Feud
Moreover, CELEB LIVE itself includes a disclaimer in its description, stating that its content may involve “gossip, rumors, exaggerated, or indirectly beside the truth.” This further highlights that the claims are designed for entertainment purposes rather than being grounded in factual reporting.
Steve Harvey and Social Media Speculation
While the rumors about Harvey fleeing the country have been debunked, his name has still been linked to Diddy in another way. On September 22, just days after Diddy’s arrest, Steve Harvey deleted a tweet from 2017 in which he praised the music mogul for his philanthropic efforts. The original tweet read, “My brother @Diddy is doing a world of good for these kids.” This sudden removal caught the attention of fans and social media users, sparking speculation about Harvey’s motives. Some wondered whether the tweet deletion was related to Diddy’s current legal troubles.
However, it is important to note that Steve Harvey has not made any public statements regarding the removal of the tweet, nor has he been implicated in Diddy’s legal issues. The timing of the tweet’s deletion may be coincidental, or it may reflect a decision to distance himself from Diddy amidst the controversy. Regardless, there is no substantial link between Harvey’s social media activity and the claims that he fled the country.
A Pattern of Misinformation
This isn’t the first time that Steve Harvey has been the subject of false rumors from the CELEB LIVE channel. Earlier in 2023, the same YouTube page claimed that Harvey had been arrested due to his alleged involvement in crimes committed by the husband of his co-host, Shirley Strawberry. That rumor was also quickly debunked. Similarly, after Diddy’s arrest, other unfounded claims surfaced about Jay-Z, with rumors suggesting he had fled the country or had his properties raided. Like the Steve Harvey rumors, these claims were proven to be false.

The claim that Steve Harvey fled the country in the aftermath of Diddy’s arrest is entirely unfounded and has been debunked. The viral YouTube video that popularized this narrative is part of a larger trend of sensationalized content designed to mislead viewers for entertainment purposes. There are no credible reports linking Steve Harvey to Diddy’s legal troubles, and the photo of Harvey in jail attire is fake.
While the internet can be a breeding ground for rumors and misinformation, it’s essential to fact-check before believing or sharing such content. As of now, Steve Harvey remains in the U.S., and there is no evidence to suggest that he has any connection to Diddy’s ongoing legal issues.
