Stephen Kershnar, a professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia is under review after videos of him defending pedophilia went viral. Moreover, his saying he didn’t understand why it is wrong and so objectionable angered the Netizens even more. He teaches libertarian philosophy and applied ethics at the State University of New York (SUNY).

Stephen Kershnar was asked if pedophilia was ethical or not and he was being recorded for the same. Libs of TikTok took to Twitter to share the video of the same. The video, as a result, got viral and the university is investigating the professor. In the viral clip, the professor is heard saying there is nothing wrong if an adult male wants to get in bed with a 12-year-old who is willing to participate. The professor, moreover, doesn’t find anything wrong with this. He even fails to why a situation like this would constitute a criminal offense.

Furthermore, he even cites the advantages and benefits of a sexual relationship between an adult and a child.

One of the clips included his appearance on a podcast titled “Unregistered with Thaddeus Russell” from December 2020. According to Fox News, the blog “Brain in a Vat” featured those clips in a YouTube video. The blog publishes “thought experiments and discussions with philosophers.”

Stephen Kolison, SUNY Fredonia’s president, responded to the professor’s pedophilia comments on Tuesday night. In the statement, he said that the university is aware of the videos circulating online involving one of their professors. In addition, he says that the university’s values do not align with the views of the professor in any way, shape, or form. Moreover, the matter is under investigation.

Stephen Kershnar has not made any further comments about the same.
