Steph Curry’s parents Sonya and Dell Curry are getting divorced, as Sonya Curry filed the needed paperwork. she filed all the documents in the North Carolina Court, earlier this summer. Sonya Curry, 55, filed the divorce on June 14 for splitting up from Dell, 58, the reports of TMZ told the media. The court is processing the paperwork of the couple who wed in 1988.
The couple has two grown-ups Steph, 33, and Seth, 31. Both are NBA Superstars. Both earned Golden State Warriors Trophy in 2016. They also have a daughter, Sydel Curry, 26. Sonya and Dell met in the college of Virginia Technology and welcomed Steph in 1988, Seth (1990), and Sydel (1994).
In a recent interview, The couple said that after a considerate amount of thinking and much thoughtful consideration, they have decided to end their marriage.
The couple said that they are sad about the split but they want their family to be happy and thanked everyone in the audience for the blessings.
“We stay committed to and supportive of our children and grandchildren and will remain on connected paths. We ask that our privacy be respected and pray for our family as we move forward”. Said the couple in an interview.
Dell has been a guard in NBA from 1986 to 2002, worked with Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks. Last year, the couple Sonya and Dell did a podcast together called Raising Fame. The podcast focused on families in Sports. Dell was the star guard on the Charlotte Hornets for almost 10 seasons.
Stephen, 33, and his wife cookbook author, Ayesha Curry also have three children: daughter Riley and Ryan and son Canon. On the other side, Seth, 31, has a daughter Carter with his wife Callie Rivers Curry. Sydel, 26, is expecting her first child with NBA star Damion Lee.
Sonya Curry was also a volleyball player in Virginia. She ran a Montessori Christian School and raised her family in Charlotte. Then, later she became a fan of the NBA and loved watching her sons Stephen and Seth play.
The couple is happy to be with their children and is looking forward to a better future.
