Sophie Turner recently spoke out about her divorce from singer Joe Jonas, describing the emotional impact of their separation and her return to London after years in the United States. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, the Game of Thrones star shared that her life felt as though it was “on pause” amid the challenging transition. Turner and Jonas, who married in 2019, decided to part ways in September 2023, leading to a custody arrangement for their two children.

Discussing the breakdown of her marriage, Turner explained, “I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much, but it was incredibly sad. We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard.” Known for his role in the Jonas Brothers band, Joe and Sophie tied the knot in a private Las Vegas chapel ceremony in May 2019, attended by close family, including Joe’s brothers and their spouses. They later held a more elaborate wedding in France in June, sharing the milestone with extended friends and family.

The couple’s marriage came under public scrutiny earlier this year when Sophie filed for divorce. While the legal proceedings were private, media attention surged around the custody dispute, ultimately resolved with an agreement on shared custody of their children. For Turner, the separation marked not just the end of her marriage but also the beginning of a journey back to her roots in London.

Turner opened up about feeling “not quite herself” while living away from England. “It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family,” she shared. Reflecting on her years in the U.S., Turner mentioned she had missed out on crucial moments in her loved ones’ lives, such as engagements and other milestones, that made her feel a sense of disconnection. “I was away for so long – six years – and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant,” she added.

In her return to the UK, Turner has found companionship with Peregrine Pearson, a British aristocrat and director of a London-based property development firm. The two have reportedly been dating for some time, making their relationship public earlier this month with a heartfelt post from Turner celebrating Pearson’s 30th birthday.

Now, as she settles back into life in London, Sophie Turner appears focused on reconnecting with her roots, embracing her friendships, and moving forward after a challenging chapter. Her reflection on her personal journey highlights both the resilience needed to navigate public relationships and the comfort of returning home to find one’s sense of self.
