From the court to the catwalk, Serena Williams opened the Vogue World runway show during New York Fashion Week Monday, wearing a metallic silver Balenciaga outfit and matching floor-length cape. She was joined by four ‘ball girls’ wearing white tennis outfits and holding rackets, as a recording of Williams’s memorable 2000 NBC interview played in the background. I want that individuals should remember me as the girl who changed tennis or just had the option to bring something new thing to the game, she said in the clip. Her inclusion in the event checks out, as Selena Williams declared she’s resigning from tennis to focus on her family in her cover story for Vogue’s September issue; she fronts the mag in a powder blue Balenciaga outfit, joined by her daughter Olympia.
While this wasn’t Selena William’s first runway moment she reportedly made her debut in the Off-White fall 2022 show following designer Virgil Abloh’s startling passing she was joined by a few pretty significant names on the Vogue World catwalk. Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk, Lila Greenery, Helena Christensen, Shalom Harlow and Karlie Kloss were all displayed close by famous people like Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Erykah Badu.
Tennis Star Serena Williams Makes Epic Runway Appearance At New York Fashion Week
In Honour of Vogue’s 130-year anniversary, the outlet put on a fashion show and fair during New York Fashion Week, with live performances and significant runway strolls from probably the greatest models in the business and a few renowned faces too. Those that hit the New York Fashion Week runway wore looks from luxe designers’ Fall/Winter 2022 collections. Serena Williams opened the New York Fashion Week runway show in a custom metallic cape dress from Balenciaga. As the tennis legend walked the runway, a recording of her past interview she gave from Wimbledon 2000 was played in the background, as indicated by Vogue.

Stars including Serena Williams, Jared Leto, Lil Nas X and Russell Westbrook reportedly sit in the first line at the show alongside celebrated Vogue editor-in-boss Anna Wintour. Well-known supermodels seen on Monday night’s runway included Helena Christensen, Shalom Harlow, Golden Valletta, Adut Akech, and Imaan Hammam and the sky is the limit from there. Howard University’s Ooh La Artists performed during the production. Hari Nef, Jeremy O. Harris, Paul Walker’s girl Glade Walker, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and all the more likewise walked in the show. The show finished with a surprise performance from Lil Nas X, who delivered an exuberant interpretation of his hit song titled Industry Baby. Serena Williams and both Hadid sisters went along with him on the runway during the legendary performance.
