Bella Hadid made history when she walked for Coperni during Paris Fashion Week 2022 on the 30th of September Friday.
The 25-year-old model appeared on the runway topless covering her breasts and sporting only a pair of underwear and heels.
However, shortly after a team of specialists strategically started spraying a thick white latex around Hadid’s torso as she stood still.
Moreover, a mid-length solid dress eventually started forming that consisted of high slit and off-the-shoulder sleeves. The team elegantly draped it over Hadid before she went off to walk the grand finale of the French label’s fashion show.
It should be noted that the minimalist Coperni slip dress is designed by Fabrican Ltd’s managing director Dr. Manel Torres. In addition, he also invented the spray-on fabric.
Coperni gets candid about Bella Hadid’s futuristic spray-on dress
Coperni referred to Bella Hadid’s memorable dress as a theatrical demonstration and an example of a ‘futuristic fusion of science and fashion.’
The brand’s co-founders Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant who tied the knot on a secluded Greek island talked with the media before the fashion show.
During the interaction, they claimed that their fashion label is recognized for pushing the boundaries with fashion and technology.
Furthermore, Vaillant mentions, ‘It’s our celebration of women’s silhouettes from centuries past.’
Meyer on the other hand says, ‘We wanted to update our aesthetic in a more grown-up and scientific way, too.’
Subsequently, Vaillant continued, ‘We wanted to dedicate this moment to Dr. Torres because we respect what he does so much. We felt that it was absolutely necessary that he led the performance, to us, that makes the experience even more magical.’
