The ongoing custody feud between Love & Hip Hop stars Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena has reached new levels of intensity, with both parties airing shocking accusations and personal grievances on social media. What began as a dispute over child support has now escalated into a bitter public spectacle, with both exes using social platforms to share their sides of the story, hurling serious allegations at one another.
The drama took a turn earlier this week when Safaree reportedly sought to lower his monthly child support payments. Erica Mena quickly retaliated, accusing Safaree of being a “deadbeat dad” and sharing a calendar that claimed he had only seen their children 16 times so far this year. Safaree didn’t stay silent. Mena didn’t hold back in her response. She addressed the controversy in an Instagram rant, where she claimed Safaree had violated her body and dismissed his narrative. “Explain why I was so enraged because of how you violated my body,” she wrote, hinting at deeper issues in their relationship. She also claimed that Safaree was manipulating the situation by sharing old footage, while she had recordings from 2024 that painted a very different picture. In one of her most explosive allegations, she asked, “Do you really want me to post you begging for me back just this past May on your knees in front of our kids?”
Mena also accused Safaree of putting her health at risk, though she did not elaborate on the details. She continued to fire shots at her ex-husband, dismissing his claims about the restraining order as fake and uploading screenshots from what she claimed was surveillance footage of Safaree pleading for reconciliation.
Adding another layer to the drama, Safaree’s recent legal filing requested a reduction in child support payments, citing a “significant change in circumstances.” According to court documents, Safaree’s income has decreased since the couple’s divorce, largely due to no longer being a full-time talent on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and a reduction in appearance bookings. His filing also alleged that Mena’s public campaign of calling him a “deadbeat” had harmed his reputation and hindered his ability to secure new work.
The pair’s battle has also drawn plenty of attention on social media, with fans and critics alike chiming in on the drama. This prompted another wave of backlash from Mena, who shared a tongue-in-cheek response by posting a photo of herself in a movie scene, humorously choking a man.
