Robert Flaxman reportedly has died by suicide. His highest profile moment was the time when he found himself entangled in the college admissions scandal back in 2019.

Robert Flaxman was among the dozen of people whose names came up in the college admissions scandal in 2019.
Regardless, it was recently revealed that he has passed away.
According to law enforcement sources, a couple of Flaxman’s friends requested a welfare check on him while he was staying in his Malibu residence last week.
However, when the cops managed to enter the house, they discovered that Flaxman had hanged himself.
Moreover, the coroner’s office in Los Angeles County has ruled Flaxman’s death as suicide and closed the case.
In addition, TMZ reported that no suicide notes were found by the authorities when they examined his house. But it has been stated that Flaxman had a history of depression and anxiety.
Robert Flaxman’s college admissions scandal in 2019
Robert Flaxman’s name came into the limelight after he was charged in the nationwide college admissions scandal in 2019.
More than 50 people, alongside Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, were charged for paying a massive amount of money to get their children into top-tier schools across the country.
Meanwhile, court reports reveal that in 2016 Flaxman conspired to give his daughter more time to take t he admissions test. In addition, he had the ACT exam corrected.
Besides that, he donated $75,000 to a fake charity in order to get his work done. The “charity” was run by William Singer who is allegedly the mastermind behind the whole college admissions scandal.
Meanwhile, Flaxman’s lawyers argued in court calling his actions ‘an act of desperation’ before the judge. They further claimed that he paid the $75,000 donation to get his daughter into a safe environment as he wanted her daughter to remain in recovery.
Flaxman on the other hand cried during the trial hearings in court. Additionally, he issued an apology to students saying, ‘work hard and don’t cheat no matter what.’
Nevertheless, Flaxman eventually pled guilty and was charged with federal counts of wire fraud. Furthermore, he was sentenced to a month behind prison bars.
The court further ruled that he will be supervised for a year after his release and was ordered to complete 250 hours of community service. He had to pay a $50K fine as well.
